Jackfir is now Certified Plastic Neutral!
written by Charlie Razook, Founder
We love Mama Earth! Jackfir's skincare products are now certified Plastic Neutral. We have partnered with rePurpose Global – the world’s leading Plastic Action Platform – to fund the recovery of as much nature-bound plastic waste as we use in our products and packaging.
We are helping fund Project Anmol Kinara (अनमोल किनारा) in Udupi, Karnataka, India in this first-of-its-kind project, entails the recovery and processing of low-value, multi-layered plastic waste (MLP) to stem its flow into our natural ecosystem.
More than 50% of the plastic waste generated in urban cities of India is multi-layered plastic (MLP) that does not get collected because the material has no commercial value and lacks collection infrastructure.
We already incorporate many sustainability actions at Jackfir: 1) we use many up-cycled ingredients like apples from apple juice production, 2) we partner with One Tree Planted to plant trees in North American Forests to hopefully minimize our carbon footprint, 3) we use 50% PCR plastic in our skincare packaging, meaning 50% recycled plastic, and 4) we use FSC mix certified paper, meaning responsibly forested paper, in our cartons and ecommerce shipping boxes! To name a few.
Stay clean and leave no trace!
