Jackfir Conversations: John Lindsey of The Movement Journey

Jackfir sat down with fitness expert, trainer, and movement specialist John Lindsey, MS, CSCS, of @themovementjourney for an in-depth discussion on his personal fitness journey, fitness tips, skincare, and, of course, his favorite Jackfir products.
What was your path to living a life focused on fitness and flexibility?
At 23, I was in grad school while also working as a personal trainer, yet my mobility was quite poor. I struggled to touch my toes and couldn’t squat past 90 degrees. After a leg day, I often experienced back pain for several days. It felt disheartening to teach others how to "move better" when my own movement was lacking. This realization led me down a deep rabbit hole of mobility work, which I continue to pursue to this day.
Do you have any fitness and/or wellness practices that help you stay in the best physical and mental shape possible?
I believe in moving every day. Even on the busiest days, I’ll wake up extra early to ensure I get some form of exercise in. A healthy lifestyle is built on good habits, so incorporating daily movement is a top priority for me and a non-negotiable part of my routine.
Do you have a skincare routine? If so, what is it?
When it comes to skincare, I subscribe to the philosophy that less is more. Many skincare products contain at least a few harmful ingredients. If you’re living a healthy lifestyle—eating well, staying active, and managing stress—your need for an extensive skincare regimen should be minimal. I personally use Dr. Bronner's soap and the Jackfir facial cleanser, and that’s it.
Which Jackfir product is your favorite and why?
As someone who sweats a lot, I appreciate using the Jackfir facial cleanser. It’s great to have a healthy product that effectively cleanses my pores after exercise.
